Studio

A year since last time, what we've learned

Joni Lindgren Founder & Growth PM 1 min read

In this episode of Datadrivet, Joni Lindgren and Jasmin Yaya are joined by Linda Eriksson, co-founder at scilla.studio, to catch up after nearly a year away from the microphone. The first half of 2021 saw 27 episodes go out, then the show went quiet from autumn 2020, so this is the team taking stock of what happened in between.

scilla.studio is a consultancy that helps tech companies grow, work in a data-driven way, and build products people actually love. The team brings together Product Managers, developers, Growth Analysts and UX Designers, and the work spans experimentation, idea validation, team coaching and onboarding optimization. Clients mentioned in the episode include Aller Media, Ridely, Mentimeter and Plick.

The hosts walk through the past year of growing the studio itself. Most of that growth came from two places: client work and recruitment. The team also put time into testing their own product ideas, with mixed results, which is a useful reminder that the people who help others validate ideas run into the same hard truths when the ideas are their own. On a lighter note, they moved into a new office at Terminalen in Stockholm, with views they’re clearly happy about.

The takeaway is simple. Building a studio is the same loop as building a product: take on real work, hire deliberately, test your own bets, and keep what works. The team invites listeners to keep the conversation going on data-driven practice over on LinkedIn.

Listen to the full episode of Datadrivet for the full catch-up on the year, the client work, and the move to Terminalen.
